ANNA & DAVE
FAQs
Here are a few questions we've been asked. We've been updating this page and different sections so keep checking back!
Are there other events during the wedding weekend?
Yep! We're hosting a casual Welcome Party on Friday, February 6th from 6:30 - 9:30pm. Invitations have been sent to our guests via Paperless Post - please check your spam folder or reach out if you haven't received yours. RSVPs are due by January 18th. There will be food and drinks (and crawfish, if we're lucky!).
We know there's a lot to see and do in New Orleans (check out Anna's dad's recommendations for first-timers!), so please feel free to skip the Welcome Party and make other plans if you'd prefer. We'll be just as excited to see you on Saturday!
One quick heads-up: Friday parade routes may make getting to the bar tricky depending on where you are staying. Expect longer Uber wait times, heavier traffic, or a short walk (10 - 15 minutes) to get inside or outside of "the box" to catch a ride share.
We'll also have a casual Sweet Sendoff on Sunday morning from 9am - 11am. Swing by the venue (hotel) for a pastry, and a quick hug, before you're on your way home.
How do I get to/from the venue?
If you are not within walking distance to the venue, we recommend taking a ride share (Uber or Lyft) or a taxi. Please plan ahead and be aware that your driver may need to take a detour or hit traffic due to parade routes. Check out the parade schedule here (look at those in the French Quarter or Uptown).
What time does the ceremony start?
The ceremony starts (doors close) promptly at 4pm, but the venue will open and seating begins at 3:30pm. Once the doors close, they won't be reopened until the ceremony ends. (They are old and creaky!!)
Anything else to note about the ceremony?
Yes! We’ve hired a wonderful photographer to capture our day. We hope you’ll join us in being fully present by keeping phones completely put away during the ceremony. We’ll be sure to share photos with you afterward!
What's the dress code?
Our dress code is “funky formal.” Think long dresses, suits, or tuxes as the base, then add personality through textures, standout accessories, sparkle, or patterns. It’s meant to feel elegant and festive—not costume-y. If you need some inspiration, feel free to take a look at this Pinterest board!
If you'd feel most comfortable going the formal route, that's okay too!
Are kids invited?
As much as we love your little ones, we’ve decided to make our wedding an adults-only celebration — with the special exceptions of our flower girls, Blakely and Mia, and our ring bearer, Nathan.
Will the ceremony and reception be held in the same place?
Yes — everything will be in one place, so you can relax and enjoy the celebration without any travel in between!
Is the wedding indoors or outdoors?
Our ceremony and reception will be held indoors. Cocktail hour will take place outdoors in the piazza, featuring brick flooring (no grass).
